A lot of people think the English Bulldog does not or can not swim at all. From my own experience I can say this is a myth, almost all of my bulldogs loved the water. Some just dipping, others swimming, diving and fetching. When you let your bulldog swim in the pool or deep waters a lifevest is advised. Because all the muscle and weight of the bulldog is in the front they have to work a lot harder to keep their heads above water so a vest also makes it more fun and more relaxing for them to take a dip. This picture obviously a dedication to olympic legend Michael Phelps who is also a Bulldogowner.
