The Bulldog Beach Walk 2014

Location: The Hague, The Netherlands
Date: Sunday 14 September 2014

Prior to the Bulldog Beach Walk, 232 Bulldogs signed up, along with about 550 owners and 75 other dogbreeds. The weather forecast was sunny, all the ingredients for a true Bullog Happening were there. And so it was! The Beach was flooded with Bulldogs.

The walk started at 1 am, but at 11 am the first people were beginning to gather at the parking lot. After the gathering, greetings and registration it was finally time to start the Walk to the Beach.

With the whole Bulldog Parade we started our walk into the dunes.  There were Bulldogs everywhere! Bullies in all shapes, sizes and colors, from young to old. Some Bullies were super excited and wanted to get to the beach as soon as possible, where others just laid back in a cart enjoying the view. After the walk through the dunes we arrived at the beach where the Bullies could run free and take a dip or dive into the sea. We continued our walk over the beach untill we arrived at Parker Beach Club.

There was an agility parcour set up, photoshoots and a Bulldog Massage Corner. Anyone who wanted to try agility could practice first. The track was full of Bulldogs and their owners were busy guiding and motivating them. As expected, it was more a comedy show than a sport event. Most Bullies ran off like a loose cannon with no direction what so ever or decided halfway through the trunk to take a nap. But there were certainly Bulldogs that showed their Agility Skills and run the whole track flawless in great speed. It sure was entertaining to watch. It was very nice to see that  even the slowest bulldogs who failed all the obstacles, were greeted by their owners with enthusiasm, pride and a lot of hugs.

After the walk, the beach, photoshoots and the agilty runs it was time for the Bulldogs to just relax and become totally Zen in the massage corner.
You could see those Bulldogs thinking: The beach, the sea, all this attention, all play, hugs and kisses and now own private masseur …?  This is Heaven!
After the portraits and the massage it was time for everybully to chill out on the terrace of Parker Beach Club.
